Product: GAMMA intramedullary interlocking nail Extra long
1. Clinical Back Ground
Gamma3 Long Nail is intended for fixation of stable and unstable femoral fractures occurring from the base of the femoral neck extending distally to a point approximately 10cm proximal to the intracondylar notch including fractures of the basilar neck, intertrochanteric fractures, peritrochanteric fractures, subtrochanteric fractures and femoral shaft fractures.
2. Application
The femoral interlocking intramedullary nail (FIIN) is classified into five types; namely normal, Grosse‐Kempf, gamma, reconstructive and supracondylar, each being applicable to different fracture locations1-5. All types of FIIN are composed of a main nail and several interlocking screws at the proximal and distal ends of the FIIN. The difference between them is in the locking style of the interlocking screws device. Each FIIN had its own guide device. Grosse‐Kempf, gamma, and reconstructive FIIN are only applicable to one side of the femur, giving rise to an increase in the cost of producing and marketing as well as inconvenience in their clinical application; so we designed a femoral compound interlocking intramedullary nail (FCIIN).
